Who am I?

I’m Jay, a bicycle technician with almost 20 years of industry experience, shaped by a career that’s taken me through some of Australia’s most respected workshops. I began as a bike builder with Goldcross CyclesWaurn Ponds in 2007, then spent years at Hendry Cycles working with some of the biggest names in the industry and closely with major brands like Trek. From there, I moved to Bike Power (Bicycle Centre Belmont) for Several years, before joining 99 Bikes Hoppers Crossing, where I earned multiple high‑achievement/Leadership awards. After moving back to Cairns, I continued working locally, building a reputation for precision, reliability and high‑level mechanical care.

My technical background includes SRAM STU advanced suspension and brake training, Shimano S‑Tech certification, and Bosch eBike specialist accreditation, giving me deep capability across modern drivetrains, suspension systems, hydraulic braking, and e‑bike diagnostics.

Across my career, I’ve serviced large commercial fleets, supported professional and amateur triathlon teams, and maintained bikes for competitive road cyclists who rely on meticulous tuning and consistent performance. Working with athletes taught me the importance of marginal gains, mechanical accuracy, and absolute reliability — principles I bring to every bike I touch.

Today, I operate a mobile repair service supported by a fully equipped professional home workshop, servicing Cairns through to Innisfail, including the Northern Beaches and Gordonvale. My mission is to redefine bicycle repairs in FNQ by delivering premium, workshop‑grade mechanical excellence with the convenience of mobile service.
